About this year's recital

July 25 at Samarthanam

Our 2026 Annual Recital is at Samarthanam, Bangalore. Open to all performers who have successfully completed at least one grade exam in their subject within the last 12 months — FSG students, independent learners, and students from other schools are all welcome.

🎤 Guest Artists this year

Sangeetha Santhosam will be performing alongside our students. Grace Biswas and the Chikka Strings Band return as recurring guests — they have featured in previous FSG recitals and bring a different energy to the ensemble sections of the programme.

🎼 Student-composed premieres

Last year saw our first-ever student-composed piece premiered at an FSG recital. This year we are featuring more original composition from our students — a tradition we intend to grow.

Concerts, festivals & guest performances

Our annual recital is just one part of the performance calendar. Our students and choir also participate in concerts, competitions and collaborations with professional artists and ensembles — events we attend as invited performers, not as organisers.

South Asian Symphony Orchestra — Beethoven's 9th Symphony

Prestige Centre for Performing Arts, Bangalore · Our choir performed as guest ensemble alongside musicians from Europe and South Asia — this was not an FSG recital, but a major professional concert we were invited to participate in.

Christmas Concerts — St. John's Church

2024 with guest conductor Jonas Olsson (Bangalore Men & Capella Bangalore choirs) · 2025 with Samuel Samson, conductor of the St. John's Church Choir. Combined concerts, not FSG recitals.

Madras Musical Association Recital + YMCA Easter Concert

Chennai · 2024 · Guest artists Benson Chacko and Shubhangi Das performed with our students at these external engagements.

Stop-Gaps Choir Festival · Basel Mission Choral Festival

Mumbai 2022 · Basel Mission: Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bangalore — winners every year since 2020. Competitive choir festivals, not our own productions.

Commissioned & original music

James Welburn, Deputy Head of Engagements at ABRSM, has arranged pieces from his albums for FSG concerts. Sarah Jenkins, an emerging composer with the Royal Philharmonic Society UK, has written original choral music for us. Last year's recital featured the first-ever student-composed premiere in FSG history.
