Fingersmith's Garage — Annual Recital 2026
Performer Terms, Conditions & Participation Rules
Event: Annual Recital 2026 · Samarthanam, Bangalore · Saturday, 25 July 2026
1. CONFIRMATION OF SLOT
Submitting this form does not guarantee a performance slot. Your participation will be confirmed via WhatsApp once your registration has been reviewed. Until you receive that confirmation, your slot is not reserved. Please do not make travel or other arrangements that depend on your participation until confirmed.
2. DRESS CODE
Gents: sky blue full-sleeve formal shirt, formal black full pants, black blazer, black formal shoes and socks.
Ladies: dark blue or midnight blue formal wear, black formal shoes.
No velcro shoes, sports shoes, or canvas shoes on stage. Avoid shirts or tops with bold design patterns — some patterns look very off on video and may affect how your performance is presented. Tie, bow-tie, or formal vest are optional for gents. Avoid excessive jewellery or accessories that restrict hand movement. Avoid anything that will crease before you go on stage. Come dressed — do not plan to change at the venue. Green rooms are shared and space is limited.
3. ARRIVAL
All performers must arrive no later than 2:30 PM. The concert begins at 4:00 PM. Performers who arrive after 3:30 PM may forfeit their performance slot. Specific arrangements for advanced performances will be communicated directly by FSG faculty.
4. PERFORMANCE ORDER
Performance order will be assigned by FSG and communicated before the event. Requests for specific positions in the order cannot be guaranteed. Once the programme is finalised, changes to order will not be accommodated except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of FSG faculty.
5. SHEET MUSIC & COPYRIGHT
Performers confirm that all sheet music used in their performance is a legally obtained copy — either purchased or sourced from a verifiable public domain publisher such as IMSLP. Unauthorised photocopies or scanned copies of in-copyright works are not permitted. FSG reserves the right to ask for proof of purchase if required.
5a. LICENSED WORKS — NOT ACCEPTED
This recital is specifically to highlight the performer's talent and technique. Only public domain pieces or original compositions are accepted for performance. No piece requiring a licence to perform publicly will be accepted. Any submission of a licensed work will be automatically rejected at the initial review stage. If this is discovered at a later stage of preparation — including after programme confirmation — the performance will still be removed from the set. The onus to identify whether a piece requires a performance licence, and to obtain that licence if they wish to proceed, lies solely with the performer. FSG and the event stakeholders bear no responsibility for licence compliance.
6. ACCOMPANIMENT & BACKING TRACKS
Performers requiring a live accompanist are responsible for arranging and compensating their own accompanist unless FSG has confirmed otherwise. Backing tracks must be provided on a USB drive in MP3 (320kbps) or WAV format. Tracks will be tested during sound check. FSG's sound team has final discretion over playback levels and equipment. Tracks that cannot be played on the day's equipment without a technical rider will be considered unavailable.
7. PAGE TURNERS
Performers who require a page turner are responsible for arranging their own. Page turners must be briefed by the performer and must be present at sound check. FSG will not provide page turners.
8. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO RECORDING
FSG will photograph and video-record all performances for archival, promotional, and educational purposes. By submitting this form, you consent to FSG publishing photographs and recordings of your performance on FSG's website, social media channels, and YouTube channel. If you do not consent to publication of your image or recording, you must notify FSG in writing before the event. Performances will still be recorded for archival purposes regardless of consent to publication.
9. AUDIENCE & TICKETS
This is a ticketed event. Performing students are admitted with their immediate family. Additional guest tickets are subject to venue capacity and will be communicated separately.
10. CONDUCT
All performers and their families are expected to observe audience etiquette during other performances — including silence during performances, no flash photography, and no movement on stage while another student is performing. FSG reserves the right to ask anyone disrupting the event to leave.
11. ELIGIBILITY
For Grade 6 and below: performers must have completed at least one grade exam within the last 12 months.
For Grade 7 and above: performers may submit even if they have not completed an exam within the last 12 months.
Performers for the 2026 recital do not need to be an active FSG student. However, please tell us how you heard about this recital or who introduced you to FSG — include this in the additional notes field of this form.
12. PIECE LENGTH & SUBMISSION RULES
Each submitted piece must be 3 minutes or under in performance length. A piece may be an excerpt from a longer work, but the performed portion must fit within this limit. Longer pieces must be shortened before submission — pieces submitted without confirmation of a shortened arrangement will be reviewed and may be rejected or returned for revision.
Each performer may submit only one solo performance. A performer may also be part of multiple ensemble performances, but each ensemble submission must also be 3 minutes or under.
If we receive more than one submission from the same ensemble, all submissions from that ensemble will be reviewed together and we will confirm which are accepted for the final programme. Submitting multiple pieces does not guarantee all will be accepted.
13. WITHDRAWAL
If you need to withdraw from the recital after your slot is confirmed, please notify FSG as early as possible via WhatsApp. Late withdrawals (within 7 days of the event) may affect programme printing and slide preparation. Any registration fee paid is non-refundable after programme confirmation.
14. FORCE MAJEURE
In the event of circumstances beyond FSG's control (venue unavailability, natural disaster, government restriction, or other unforeseen events), FSG reserves the right to postpone, relocate, or cancel the recital. In such cases, FSG will communicate as early as possible and will endeavour to reschedule where feasible. No compensation will be due for cancellation due to force majeure.
15. DATA
Contact details and performance information submitted in this form will be used solely for event coordination, programme production, and post-event follow-up. Your data will not be shared with third parties outside of the event production team. You may request deletion of your data after the event by contacting sbaynes@fingersmith.in.
16. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Teachers and parents are responsible for ensuring their students and children are supervised at all times at the venue. FSG staff are present as organisers, not as supervisors of individual students.
